William Reed Jones

William “Reed” Jones – Age 89 – passed away at his residence on September 29, 2019. Mr. Jones was born in Williamson County on September 27, 1930 to the late Mr. Albert Luther Jones & Mrs. Lera Frances (Reed) Jones. Along with his parents he is also preceded in death by his brothers Ernest A. Jones, Albert M. Jones, Ned R. Jones, and Phillip R. Jones; and his grand-daughter Corene Jones. He is survived by his devoted wife of 67 years Dorothy (Sullivan) Jones of Fairview, TN; sons Billy Reed (Barbara) Jones, Royce G. (Kitty) Jones, and Owen A. (Kathy) Jones; daughters Stella (Terry Joe) Rogers, Myra Cato, Cynthia (John) Nutt, and Mona (Tracy) White; his brother David G. (Ann) Jones, sister Julia (John H.) Robinson. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Jones was a loyal member of the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 572 from 1952 until the present. He was part of many community and civic services. He was the first to register and proudly report for CoCoRaHS (weather services) every day for a decade in Tennessee. MOSTLY WONDERFUL! Visitation will be held from our Dickson Funeral Home’s Fairview Chapel on Tuesday October 1, 2019 from 2-8 pm and again on Wednesday October 2, 2019 at Hudgins Chapel from 9 am till the time of his services. Services will be held from the Hudgins chapel at 10 am. With a burial to follow at Hudgins Cemetery. Arrangements by Dickson Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
