Sue Ellen Holman Harris left this earthly life on January 4, 2021, as a result of CoVID-19. She was born December 20, 1930 in Chapel Hill and grew up in Lewisburg. She graduated from Marshall County High School. In 1949, she married Howard Ray Holman, who preceded her in death in 1990. They had three children. Howard entered the ministry as a Cumberland Presbyterian Minister and during their 41 years of marriage, Sue faithfully followed him to Tampa, Florida; McKenzie, TN; Bremen, KY; Middleton, OH; Smithville, TN; and finally to Dickson in 1971. In addition to being the pastor's wife at churches in those locations, she performed a myriad of services to the church. She taught Sunday School classes for children and adults, directed and taught many Vacation Bible School's, worked in and led women's groups, typed and produced Sunday bulletins, led Bible studies, and finally worked as Church Secretary of Dickson Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Her dearest love in service to the church was music. She sang her clear soprano solo at weddings, funerals, and church services; she directed choirs at several churches, and sang in many church choirs. One of the highlights of her singing was her opportunity to sing Handel's Messiah with the Middletown (Ohio) Civic Chorus. Sue married William (Buck) Harris in 1992. He preceded her in death in 2016. In 2016 she moved to Morning Pointe at Franklin assisted living facility where she was lovingly cared for by the staff of The Lantern until she fell ill with COVID-19. Sue is survived by her three children, Dr. Ellen "Kathy" (Don) Carson of Pointe Vedra Beach, Florida; David (Susan) Holman of Dickson; Chris (Karen) Holman of Fairview; four grandchildren, Amy Holman (Chad) Turner, Andrew (Erin) Holman, Amanda Holman, and Kevin Holman; and two great-grandchildren, Ethan Holman and Mackenzie Holman. Due to COVID-19, there will be no visitation. A private graveside service will be held at Union Cemetery. Mrs. Holman loved flowers.
