Mary Ann Carter

Mrs. Mary Ann Carter of Nashville, TN passed away on September 1, 2020 Mrs. Carter was born in Hickman County TN on March 27, 1934 to the late Walter and Mary Lou (Wiggs) Thompson. Mary Ann graduated from Baptist Nursing School in Nashville, and was the head nurse at NASA in Huntsville, AL for many years. She is survived by her sister Marla Thompson of Brentwood, TN; sister in laws, Wanda Carter Hiett of Nashville, Sandra Thompson of Hohenwald, TN; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents Ms. Carter was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Alvin Carter; brother Walton Thompson; and sister, Ima Jean Greene. A service for family and close friends will be held on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 11:00 am at Belle Meade Methodist Church, 121 Davidson Rd. Nashville, TN 37205. Masks will be required.Burial will follow at Dickson County Memorial Gardens in Dickson, TN. In lieu of flowers contributions may be directed to Belle Meade Methodist Church or the Ovarian Cancer Society.
