John Walker Grady, 51, of Nashville, passed away on October 15, 2021, while at home in hospice care. His failing kidneys ultimately took him from this world, leaving loved ones behind with precious memories of his unique sense of humor and quick wit. John was a 1987 graduate of Searcy High School. He served in the U.S. Navy before graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Memphis with a degree in mechanical engineering. As a man of many interests, John worked on many projects during his lifetime and left behind an extensive list of projects he intended to complete. Art projects, home renovations, car mechanics, engineering: you name it and John could do it well. He was a man of extraordinary intellect, and those who knew him often referred to him as the most intelligent man in any room. John was a stranger to no one and could find a way to relate to anyone he spoke to. John is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Kelly; son, Grant, of White House, TN,26; daughter, Reagan of Knoxville, TN, 22; mother, Margie, of Nashville,TN; and siblings, Jim Grady of Springtown,TX; Amy Phillips of Little Rock, AR and Kim Stripling of Dothan, AL, along with many dear and loyal friends. A burial service will be conducted Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Middle Tennessee Veterans Cemetery, 7931 McCrory Lane, Nashville, TN.
