Harold Eugene (Pineknot) England

Harold Eugene (Pineknot) England, age 81, born August 26, 1939, passed away February 13, 2021 at TriStar Horizon Medical Center in Dickson, TN. Born number 9 out of 10 children to Orville England and Irene Gentry England. He was born and raised in White Bluff, TN. Gene (Pineknot) excelled at sports throughout all of his years at White Bluff, playing baseball, football, basketball and continued to play fast pitch softball and coach in White Bluff and Nashville until he was about 40 years old. He married Oma Jean Harvey England right out of high school, and they were married for nearly 64 years at his death. He was hired at Ford Glass Plant in 1957, and worked there until he retired 30 years later at age 48. Gene loved music and played guitar and other instruments by ear. He sang and played in country bands for several years before and after his retirement. He also loved to hunt and fish and later enjoyed both with his kids and grandkids. One of his favorite past times was watching his grandkids softball and baseball teams and was well known around most any ballpark. He loved to trade knives; and enjoyed meeting many new friends and connecting with old friends while doing so. He is survived by his wife, Oma Jean England; three daughters, Leigh Ann England Luther (Robert), Shari England Wilson (Matt), Cindy England Dearborn (Eddie); six grandchildren, David Luther, Brett Luther (Taylor), Tresa Little (Daniel), Dylan Miller, Taylor Furlough and Austin Chandler (Courtney); six great-grandchildren, Caleb Luther, Brady Luther, Ridley Luther, Grayson Luther, Kadence Little and Charleigh Chandler; two sisters, Joyce England Stacey (Fred) and Melba England Stokes (David); and two brothers, Clayton England and Marvin England (Ruby). He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Irene England; three brothers, Jessie England, Lawrence England, and Edward England; and two sisters, Lorelle England Ford and Lois England Ford. Visitation with the family will be Monday, February 22, 2021 at the White Bluff Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Funeral services will be Monday, February 22, 2021 at the White Bluff Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home at 1:00 p.m.; Interment will follow to Williams Cemetery.
