Derrick Shane Cothern

Derrick Shane Cothern, 46 years of age, of Fayetteville, TN, passed away on September 10, 2024.

Derrick was a loving and devoted father, son, brother, and husband. His daughters and wife of 20 years, were his whole world and he was theirs. He was a hardworking man and a good friend to all who knew him. If he wasn't tinkering with a truck or working on a project at home, you could find him enjoying quality time with his daughters. In his youth he volunteered his time at Dickson County Rescue Squad. He loved to support and serve his community in many ways.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, JC and Sarah Bellar, Clarence and Virginia Clifton; and loving father-in-law, Donald McNeil. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Megan Cothern (McNeil); daughters, Breanna Cothern, Sara Cothern, and Natalie Cothern; mother, Diane Cothern; sister, Melinda Cothern; and brother, Leroy Cothern.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be Monday, September 16, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Dickson Funeral Home & Cremation Center.
