David Franklin Cauthen

David Franklin Cauthen, 81 years of age, of Craggie Hope, TN, passed away January 16, 2024.

He was born November 4, 1942, in Cheatham County, TN, to the late Charles Dallas Cauthen and Lorraine (Jones) Cathey.

David was loved by all who knew him, once having a nickname as “Janitor Bud,” by staff and students at Harpeth High School and at Brentwood High School. He was a maintenance man during the summertime at Bethany Hills Camp. He retired from the Iron Workers Local Union 492 in Nashville, TN. He loved watching westerns, but his favorite thing was his dogs, he was a “dog man,” loving to run Beagles and hunt. He loved farming, from raising pigs and chickens to planting acres and fields of vegetables for his family. He will be greatly missed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and Robert Cauthen; and a sister, Sue Daniel. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Carolyn Cauthen; sons, Dee Cauthen (Myra Baird), and Brad (Leigh Ann) Cauthen; step-daughter, Anita Carol (Bobby) Steen; sister, Betty (Carlos) Davidson; half sisters, Cindy (Randy) Raines, and Angie (Gary) Scott; brothers, Dallas (Sue) Cauthen and Ricky Cauthen; grandchildren, Wade Appleton, DJ Cauthen, Haley Mann, Tyler Cauthen, Connor Cauthen, Mackenzie Cauthen, Logan Cauthen, Morgan Bowie, Matthew Bowie, and Wyatt Baird; great-grandchildren, Chloe, Caleigh, Joplin and Hudson; a large extended family, and his church family at Church of Christ of Kingston Springs.

Funeral services will be Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the White Bluff Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Patterson and Bro. Randall Harrison officiating. Interment will follow in Taylor Town Cemetery in White Bluff, TN. Visitation with the family will also be on Thursday, January 25, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of service at 2:00 p.m.
