Charles Deal

Charles Deal passed away at his home in Sweetwater, Tennessee, on November 19 , 2021 at the age of 82. Charles was born on March 21, 1939 on Myatt Farm near Turnbull Creek in Burns, Tennessee. He graduated from Dickson High School in 1957, and married Jan Phillips on September 28, 1957. He and Jan were married until her death in 2007. Charles spent his entire career in retail management and retired from Walmart after 47 years. Charles then married Brenda Fitch on November 3, 2012, and they made their home in Sweetwater, Tennessee. Charles was preceded in death by his first wife, Jan Deal; his parents, Freeman and Lena Deal; his brothers, Edward Deal and Leo Deal; and his sisters, Elizabeth Bishop, Dorothy Hood, and Mae McFarland. Charles is survived by his wife, Brenda Deal; his son, Joel Deal and spouse; his stepson, Bryan Fitch and spouse; Bryan’s three children, Hannah Fitch, Adam Yarber and spouse, Caleb Fitch and spouse, and Caleb’s two children, Avery Fitch and Zachary Fitch. There will be a visitation on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at Dickson Funeral Home in Dickson, Tennessee, with a burial service to follow at 1:30 P.M. at Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Services will be officiated by Reverend Douglas Alexander. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
