Barbara Gale Hughes

Barbara Gale Graves Hughes, age 77, of Fairview, TN, passed away April 1, 2022 at St. Thomas West in Nashville, TN. Barbara was born in Nashville, TN, on September 11, 1944. She attended Donelson High School where she met the love of her life, Joe Melvin Hughes. She attended cosmetology school at Nashville Tech. She was a beautician in Fairview, TN for 30 years. She and Joe would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 9th. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 59 1/2 years, Joe Hughes of Fairview, TN; son, Jeff Hughes (Kim Michaud) of Fairview, TN; daughter, Jan Hughes Mayberry (Fred) of Fairview, TN; brother, Clifford Donnell Graves Jr. (Judy) of Waverly, TN; sister-in-laws, Brenda Sue Hughes (Randy Gordan) of Fairview, TN and Chris Sullivan (Ronnie) of Fairview, TN. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, alot of other sons and daughters that she loved as her own. Also special extended family Ryan, Lindsay, Levi, Chase and Ryleigh Nieuwenhuis. Mrs. Hughes was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford Donnell Graves (Pap) and Bennie Sharpe Graves . Visitation with the family will be held at Walnut Street Church of Christ on Monday, April 4, 2022 from 4:00pm-8:00pm and will resume on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 from 10:00am until the time of service. Funeral Services will be held at Walnut Street Church of Christ on Tuesday, April 5, 2022 at 1:00pm; Interment will follow in Harpeth Hills Memory Gardens.
