Aristeo "Art" Rodriguez, Sr., 69, a resident of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf surrounded by his family.
Aristeo was born on September 3, 1948, in Edinburg, Texas, a son of Adam G. and Stephana (Garza) Rodriguez. He was united in marriage to Elida Pena in 1966. He later was united in marriage to Vivian Marshiela Grooms in 1984. She preceded him in death on September 11, 2010.
Art had worked for C.O.D. Concrete driving a mixer truck for over 23 years and retiring in 1998.
Art enjoyed the local casinos, cookouts, shooting pool, watching the Houston Oilers/Tennessee Titans on Sundays, and most importantly his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children: Andy Rodriguez, Rock Island, Sylvia (Luis) Rosiles, Davenport, Freddy Rodriguez,
Moline, Adam (Alicia) Rodriguez, Davenport, Delia Rodriguez,
Davenport, Stephanie Rodriguez, Davenport, and Sgt.1st Class Aristeo (Andrea) Rodriguez US Army, Hawaii (currently stationed in Afghanistan); 43 grandchildren; siblings; Adelina
(Felix) Garza, Raul (Eva) Rodriguez, all of Edinburg, Texas, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Vivian, parents, and siblings: Adam Rodriguez, Melo Rodriguez, Richard Rodriguez, Abel Rodriguez, Maria Rodriguez, and Alicia Magallen. May they rest in peace.
