Victor Stevenson Nelson; Age 70; Passed away on Friday, December 29, 2017 in Tuscaloosa, AL. He was born on May 13, 1947 in Harriman, TN to the late Victor Bert Nelson, and Mary Gertrude Rose-Nelson-Martin In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Elmer Martin, and Densel Rose; as well as his sister Linda Martin. Victor leaves behind many to cherish his memory: His wife Judy Nelson and her family: David Pooler, Jonathan Pooler (Stacey) and Steven Pooler (Janet) and their 4 children plus 10 great grandchildren and his mother-in-law, Edna Campbell . His four beautiful daughters, Jamie Nelson, Roseanna Mcillwain (Sean), Christina Yaverski (Christopher), and Jessica Lawler (Kenneth Lindsey); and their eleven children. His children he loved and raised as his own: Jeff Potter (Helen), Joshua Hanner (Leslie), Justin Hanner; Teresa Armstrong (Josh), Bill Downer (Jessica), and their 12 children. Brothers Mitchell Nelson (Chris), and Jesse Martin; Sisters Geneva Hill, Sybil McGinnis, Genetta Hendrickson, Mary Poland (Royce), and Sue McBrayer (Gene). He also had a great number of aunts and uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, out-laws, and friends. We were all fortunate to be his family, He loved us all and we all loved him! Victor was a fun-loving guy who never met a stranger. He had a great sense of humor and a beautiful smile. He loved life, traveling, and new adventures. He established Viking Construction Company over 30 years ago and specialized in Roofing. He worked hard all his life and he loved his job! He retired when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. He was a quiet gentle man who was proud of his family and loved us all very much. He will be missed. Everyone who knew him and remembers him fondly is asked to celebrate his life by doing an unexpected and unsolicited act of kindness for someone, just as he always did.
