Huel Vernon Simmons, age 77 passed away on October 13th, 2017. He was born on September 6th, 1940 in Spencer, TN to the late Elmer Vernon and Allie Edith Hutcheson Simmons. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Janette Simmons, who passed away on June 9th, 2016. He was a co-owner and machinist at Process Welding Systems in Lavergne, TN. He also, being strongly led and devoted to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; taught Sunday school at many churches, including holding services in his home for a period of time that by the Grace of God was named The House of Prayer. He is survived by three daughters; Darlene Parker, Anita Simmons-Cantrell, Christina Simmons-Simpkins-Stephens; ten grandchildren, Daniel, Amy and Amanda Parker, Samantha Brewer-Thielen, Jonathan and Crystal Brewer, Cody Andrews, Ricky and Bradley Simpkins, and Liam Simmons. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren, Karma Bright, Malachi , Farrah and Ellie Parker, Skylar and Autumn Thielen, Makinsly Thielen-Bright, and Jonathan and Brooklyn Brewer. Services will be held on Saturday, October 21st, at 2:00 p.m. at the New Life Church of God; located at 4447 Manson Pike, Murfreesboro, TN 37129 with Brother Danny Sullivan officiating. Interment to follow at 3:30 p.m. at Roselawn Cemetery on Murfreesboro Road. Visitation with the family begins at 12:00 p.m. until time of service.
