James Claborn Bellar

  James Claborn Bellar, age 91 passed away on Thursday, February 9th, 2017 at his residence in Dickson, TN.  He was born on May 21st, 1925 to the late Horace and Vera Gilmore Bellar .  In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Guthrie Bellar; brothers Owen, Robert, and Eugene Bellar; sister Irene Choate; grandson Keith Bellar; and great-granddaughter Kaleigh Choate. Mr. Bellar served his country in the United States Army from 1943-1945 and was a World War II Veteran.  He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Edgewood. He is survived by one son, Ricky Bellar (Debbie) of Dickson, TN; two daughters, Diana Cothern and Cynthia Hayes (Larry) all of Dickson; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation with the family will begin on Friday, February 10th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Dickson Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until time of service.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 11th at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home with brother Adair officiating.  Interment to follow at Edgewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
