Betty Clara Casteel

Betty Clara Casteel, age 78 passed away on Tuesday, August 23rd at Alive Hospice in Nashville.  She was born to the late Henry and Bessie May Dodson Tidwell on April 12th, 1938 in Davidson County, TN.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Clifton Casteel; son Darrell Thompson; infant daughter Anita Dawn Thompson and granddaughter Dana Burgess. She was retired from the Williamson County Board of Education and a member of Liberty Lincoln Church of Christ. She is survived by her son, Kenneth Leon Thompson of Centerville, TN; daughter Marilyn Renay Tidwell of Fairview; sister Vera Dedman of Bon Aqua; eight grandchildren, Angie, Ashley, Jenny, Christopher, Tiffany, Nick, Brandon and Jacob. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren. Services will be held on Saturday, August 27th at 11:00 a.m. from the Fairview Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home with Brother Bruce Buttrey officiating.  Interment will follow at Hudgins Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will begin on Friday, August 26th from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service.
