Fredrick Gordon Nicks, 79, of St. Clair, MI; formerly of White Bluff, Tennessee entered into eternal life on Sweetest Day, Saturday, October 17, 2015 to walk hand in hand with his loving wife Rosemary in the meadows of Heaven. He was born July 23, 1936 in White Bluff, Tennessee to the late Benjamin and Elizabeth Nicks. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, received the National Defense Ribbon and was a life member of the American Legion. He was employed as an over the road trucker for 25 years and was known as "Corn Bread Red". Fred moved to St. Clair to live with his daughter and son-in-law after an unexpected illness. He is survived by five children, Debra (Rich) York of St. Clair, Christopher Koprin of Knoxville, TN, Ed (Patty) Gilbert, JennyLee Gilbert and Courtland Gilbert-Nicks all of Canada; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Baulch Nicks; three brothers, Earl, Jerry and John Wayne Nicks; sister, Linda Primm; and a great niece, Shelby Aulidge. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2015 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Joseph Gilbert will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy. Burial will be in Williams Cemetery, White Bluff, Tennessee on October 22, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. Memorials may be made to the family.
