Owen Brooks Loomis, Sr.

Mr. Owen Brooks Loomis, Sr. was born November 29, 1924 to Edwrd Welborn and Hilda (Quigley) Loomis in Memphis, Tennessee. He passed away November 6, 2014 following an extended illness. He was 89 years of age. Survivors include: sons Owen Brooks Loomis, Jr. (Julie) of Nashville and Walt S. Holcomb (Frances) of Saltillo, TN; daughter Glenda H. Hamilton (Bill) of Houston, TX; grandchildren Christopher Eric Hamilton, Debra Hamilton, Michael W. Hamilton, Deen Holcomb, and Malcolm Holcomb; nine great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Mr. Loomis is preceded in death by his wife Ouida S. Loomis, brothers George, Edward, and Jim Loomis; and sisters Hilda Bratten, Irene Loomis, and Joyce Loomis. Funeral services were Monday, November 10th, at the Adamsville First Baptist Church. Graveside service was Tuesday, November 11th, at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, Tennessee. Me. Loomis proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during World War II.
