Donald Ray Shadowens

Mr. Donald Ray "Boots" Shadowens was born April 24, 1945 to Herbert Edward Shadowens and Nola Mai (Douglas) Shadowens in Davidson County, Tennessee. He passed away June 7, 2014 at his residence in Dickson. He was 69 years of age. He is survived by: sons Donald Ray "Red" Shadowens, Jr. and his wife Judy, Jack Elbert Shadowens and his wife Karin, and Gary Lee Shadowens and his wife Linda (all of Dickson); daughter Sherry Ann Hedge and her husband L.D. of Dickson; brothers Jackie W. Shadowens and Bill Shadowens (both of Nashville); sisters Lindra Pruitt of Nashville, Louise Nicholson of White Bluff, Martha Goss of Ashland City, Thelma Robertson of Gallatin, Dot Goode of Nashville, Betty Ann McGowan of Tampa, FL, and Melissa Shadowens of Bon Aqua. There are 15 grandchildren: Bobby, Tray, AShley, Ryan, Danny Joe, Tony, Michelle, Alex, Jimmy, Hope, Ethan, Gary Jr. Amy, Keisha, and Shawn, and 24 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Mr. Shadowens is preceded in death by his brothers Charles, Jimmy, Johnny, and Herbert "Bubba" Shadowens. Visitation begin on Monday, June 9th, from 5-8 pm, continues on Tuesday, June 10th, from 10 am until 9 pm, and again on Wednesday, June 11th, from 9 am until time of service. Funeral service will be Wednesday, June 11th, from the Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home beginning at 11 am with Bro. Donnie Spann officiating. Burial will follow in the Spring Hill Cemetery in Nashville. Arrangements by Dickson Funeral Home.
