Carolyn Bryan Akins

Mrs. Carolyn Bryan Akins was born October 26, 1931 to Aaron Paul and Mary Louise (Carper) Bryan in Birmingham, Alabama. She passed away January 25, 2014 at Horizon Medical Center following a short stay. She was 82 years of age. She is survived by: husband Grady Akins; daughter Karen Romine and her husband Robert of Dickson; brother Donald Bryan of Albany, Georgia; grandchildren Kimberly Wessinger and Kristy Spillman Street; and two great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Mrs. Akins is preceded in death by her brother Kenneth Randall Bryan. Memorial services were held on Monday, January 27th, at Horizon Medical Center Chapel with Bro. Fred Mayberry officiating. Burial is scheduled for Tuesday, January 28th, at the Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Birmingham, Alabama. Mrs. Akins was a retired accountant with Myer Electric Company in Birmingham. Arrangements by Dickson Funeral Home.
