Daniel Madison Hancock

Mr. Daniel Madison Hancock was born March 2, 1926 to Florence Wilburn and Elvassie (Irvin) Hancock in Bentonia, Mississippi. He passed away October 31, 2013 at the NHC Healthcare Center of Dickson. He was 87 years of age. Survivors include: wife Flossie Mae (Young) Hancock; sons Danny Hancock of Houston, Texas and Jimmy Hancock (Kim) of Houston, Texas; step-sons Neil Young, Eddie Young, Dennis Young (Maria), and Jack Young (Deborah) all of Dickson; daughter Karen Patterson (Darryl) of Bon Aqua; step-daughters Denise Young of Dickson and Judy Walker (Marshall) of Sevierville. There are several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Mr. Hancock is preceded in death by his first wife Lovene (Tidwell) Hancock, brother Wilburn Hancock, and sister Norma Foster. Mr. Hancock proudly served his country in the United States Army for 20+ years. He will be buried with full military honors. Visitation will be Friday, November 1st, from 3-8 pm and Saturday, November 2nd, from 11 am until time of service. Funeral service will be Saturday, November 2nd, from the Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home beginning at 1 pm with Sister Buena Lampley officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery of Dickson.
