Dorris Avery Gray

Mr. Dorris Avery "Corky" Gray was born July 14, 1935 to George Edward and Hazel (Wilson) Gray in Davidson County, Tennessee. He passed away September 14, 2013 at his residence in Charlotte. Tennessee. He was 78 years of age. He is survived by: wife Helen Gray; sons Wayne Gray (Sheila) of Knoxville and Dennis Anderton of Bon Aqua; daughters Linda Whittenburg (J.R.) of Joelton and Sherry Hardesty (Bert) of Kingston Springs; brother David Gray of Nashville; sisters Billie Watts of Dickson, Peggie Dobbins of Nashville, Edith South of Nashville, Lnda Walker of Goodlettsville, Gloria Anderson of Mt. Juliet, and Judi Driver of Nashville; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be Monday, September 16th, from 4-8 pm and Tuesday, September 17th, from 4-8 pm, and Wednesday, September 18th, from 10 am until time of service. Funeral service will be Wednesday, September 18th, from the chapel of Dickson Funeral Home beginning at 11 am with Pastor Scott Dobbins officiating. Burial will follow in the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Pegram at 1 pm. Mr. Gray proudly served his country in the United States Army, 1958-60. Arrangements by Dickson Funeral Home.
