Arthur Manley Gilmer

Mr. Arthur Manley "Shug" Gilmer was born November 26, 1930 to Thomas A. and Emma (Martin) Gilmer in Dickson County, Tennessee. He passed away September 3, 2013 at NHC Healthcare Center of Dickson. He is survived by: wife Rebecca Ann Gilmer; sons Arthur Thomas Gilmer (Dianne) of Woodlands, Texas and Timothy John Gilmer (Shannon) of Florida; daughter Deborah Ann Mills of Dickson; sister Emma Ruth Gilliam of Dickson; six grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Mr. Gilmer is preceded in death by brothers Raleigh, Jimmy, Martin, Charles, Jack, and Hubert Gilmer, and sisters Pearl Lyons, Martha Walls, and Ima McElroy. Funeral services were Thursday, September 5th, with Rev. Paul Picard officiating. Burial with military honors was in Union Cemetery of Dickson. Mr. Gilmer proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. Arrangements by Dickson Funeral Home.
