Martha Ruth Spicer

Mrs. Martha Ruth Spicer was born July 29, 1912 to Edward Fuller and Susie Sorna (Harris) Thompson in Dickson County, Tennessee. She passed away May 7, 2013 at NHC Healthcare Center of Dickson. She was 100 years of age. Survivors include: sons John Monroe Spicer (Carole) and Joseph Fuller Spicer of Charlotte; daughter Betty J. Yuhas of Charlotte; daughter-in-law Judy Spicer; twenty-one grandchildren, forty-one great grandchildren, and twenty-two great great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Mrs. Spicer is preceded in death by her husband Jasper O. Spicer, son James T. Spicer, Sr., brothers William Edward Thompson and John Thomas Thompson, sister Mar Alice Spicer, and grandchild Jesse Spicer. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 8th, from 3-8 pm and Thursday, May 9th, from 10 am until time of service. Funeral service will be Thursday, May 9th, from the Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home beginning at 2 pm with Bro. Dean Guye officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery of Dickson.
