Lizzie Mai Shelton

Mrs. Lizzie Mai Steele Fussell Shelton died peacefully in her sleep at a helath care facility in Mobile, Alabama onJanuary 9, 2013. Lizzie Mai was born in Charlotte, Tennessee on November 22, 1919. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was a faithful member of the White Bluff United Methodist Church. After the death of her husband she moved to Mobile, Alabama in order to be close to her daughter and her family, While living in Mobile, she attended Christ United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents R. Sam Steele and Eugenia Donegan Steele; husbands William Wilson Fussell and Jewel J. Shelton; three brothers, James Steele, Glen Steele, John D. Steele and one sister, Addie Steele. She is survived by her daughter Sara (Nelson) Russell, granddaughter Nancy Alexander, great-grandsons Avery Allan Alexander and Cody russell Alexander, all of Mibile, Alabama; sister-in-law Christine Steele of Charlotte, TN; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and other relatives. The family would like to give special thanks to her caregivers and friends, Terry Williams, Lucille Poole, and Virginia Johnson of Mobile, Alabama. The funeral will be held Monday, January 14, 2013 at 11:00 am from White Bluff United Methodist Church. The family will receive visitors at the church from 9:00 am until the start of the funeral at 11:00 am. Burial will be in Dickson County Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Dickson Funeral Home.
