Mr. Walter Wilborn Lee was born February 17, 1923 to Henslee and Tula (White) Lee in Dickson County, Tennessee. He passed away June 19, 2012 at the NHC HealthCare Center of Dickson. He is survived by: wife Eleaner Joslin Lee; son Carson Lee; step-sons Buford, Douglas (Carolyn), and Ray (Neva) Joslin; daughters Sherry Lee Mangrum and Connie Lee (Mark) McGahey; brother Eugene Lee; grandchildren Jeffery D. Mangrum (Trisha) Roy D. Mangrum, Jr. (Kathy), Lori Crowson, Rera Wilson, Jim Wilson (Janet), Autumn Button, Michael Joslin, and Lauren Joslin, great grandchildren Morgan Mangrum, Morgan Moorhead, Garrett Crowson, Caleb Soard, Sophia Soard, and Hannah Wilson. There are several great great grandchildren along with nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Lee is preceded in death by his daughter Susan Elaine Lee Wells, granddaughters Jenifer Lyn Mangrum-Miller and Shannon Denis, brothers Elvis, Richard, Elmer, and Lerman Lee, and sisters Mabel Lawson and Betty Lee. Mr. Lee was a decorated World War II Veteran. He was decorated for every major European Campaign and was a memember of the 610 Unit of Engineers. He received the Bronze Star during the German Campaign in the construction of bridges and roads for American troops, mailitary tanks, and supplies and part of the first Americans to arrive and defend America against Hitler's war against America and world freedom. He was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and was a devoted song leader at many Church of Christ congregations. "Amazing Grace" was his favorite hymn. His passion for fishing and hunting was renowned. He loved tending to his cattle and watching Atlanta Braves baseball. Visitation took place at the White Bluff Chapel where his service was held on Monday, June 25th. Burial was in the Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Mocrory Lane with military honors. Bro. Glenn Buffington and Bro. Matthew Hiatt officiated with Bro. Wade Dawson directing singing.
