Docie McKinney

Mrs. Docie McKinney was born February 24, 1919 to Ollie M. and Mary Frances (Spicer) Garton in Dickson County, Tennessee. She passed away May 1, 2012 at the NHC HealthCare Center of Dickson. She was 93 years of age. She is survived by one brother Robert Garton of Finlay, Ohio and one sister Ann Lewis of Clarksville. There are two step gradnchildren and several step great grandchildren. Besides her paretns, she is preceded in death by her husbands Edward Garton adn J.C. McKinney, son Maynard Shelton, step-son Harold D. McKinney, brothers Bennie Martin Garton, James Garton, and Carl Ellet Garton, and sisters Dorothy Ashworth, Nannie Spicer, and infant Mary Frances Garton. Funeral service will be Thursday, May 3rd, from the Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home beginning at 11 am with Bro. Sanders Peeler and Bro. Boyd Nash officiating. Burial will follow in the Martin Garton Cemetery.
