Albert C. Darden

Mr. Albert C. Darden, age 88 of Charlotte, departed this life on Friday, March 23, 2012 at his residence in Charlotte. He was born October 23, 1923 to the late Gilbert and Lizzine R. Darden in Charlotte, Tennessee. He joined the Methodist Church at an early age, and served his country during World War II with the United States Army. Mr. Darden was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers where he retired after thirty plus years of service. Albert Married Patsy Higdon Darden in 1949. Of this union, five children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Lizzine Robertson Darden; brother Dougls, Donald, and Charlie Darden; sisters Virginia Primm and Georgia Greet; sons Michael C. and Samuel C. Darden, and a grandson Jason T. Hogan. He leaved to cherish his memories a devoted wife of 62 years, Patsy Darden; daughters Michaelyne (Danny) Turner of Dickson; Carolyn (John) Vaughn of Charlotte, TN, son David L. Darden of Charlotte, sisters Maggie Smith of dAyton, Ohio, Mable Darden of Nashville, and Aline Dixon of Charlotte, There are 16 grandchilren and 45 great grandchildren, and numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be Wednesday, march 28th, from 10 am until time of service. Funeral service will be Wednesday, March 28th, from the Chapel of Dickson funeral Home beginning at 12 Noon. Burial will follow at 2 pm in the Middle Tennessee State Veteran's Cemetery in Pegram.
