Ora Elizabeth Petty

Mrs. Ora Elizabeth Petty was born April 8, 1927 to Frank and Nettie Mae (Ladd) Watkins in Humphreys County, Tennessee. She passed away September 29, 2011 at the NHC HealthCare Center of Dickson at the age of 84. She is survived by two daughters, Connie Petty and Judy Hamrick (David) all of Dickson, brothers John Watkins of Shreveport, Louisiana, William Watkins (Carol Lee) of White Bluff, Charles "Chuck" Watkins of Dickson, and Alfred Watkins of Evansville, Indiana,sister Wanda Lane of Dickson, granddaughter Terry Hassell (Lewis), and great grandchildren Dustin, J.D., and Elizabeth Hassell. Besides her parents, Mrs. Petty is preceded in death by her husband James A. "Shot-Gun) Petty and several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Petty cooked in several restaurants in Dickson County for 58 years. She was a member of the Dickson County Humane Society and participated in many other humanitarian endeavors. Visitation will be Friday, September 30th, from 3-8 pm and Saturday, October 1st, from 10 am until time of service. Funeral service will be Saturday, October 1st, from the Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home beginning at 2 pm with Bro. Warren Medley and Bro. Donnie Craig officiating. Burial will follow in the Fews Chapel Cemetery in Tennessee City. Arrangements by Dickson Funeral Home.
