Jack Douglas Gilmer

Mr. Jack Douglas Gilmer was born December 1, 1924 to Thomas L. Gilmer and Emma Ruth (Martin) Gilmer in Dickson County, Tennessee. He passed away July 26th at a residence in Burns, Tennessee. He was 86 years of age. Survivors include: daughter Pam Fowler of Lake Orion, Michigan; brothers Hubert and Arthur Gilmer both of Dickson; sister Ruth Gilliam of Dickson. There are three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Gilmer is preceded in death by his wife Nell, brothers "Tookie", Raleigh, Jimmy, and Charles Gilmer, and sisters Ima McElroy, Pearl Lyons, and Martha Walls. Visitation will be Thursday, July 28th, from 5-8 pm and Friday, July 29th, from 10 am until time of service. Funeral service will be Friday, July 29th, from the Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home beginning at 2 pm with Bro. Eddie Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in Dickson's Union Cemetery. Mr. Gilmer proudly served his country in the United States Army, 1943-46.
