William Sherman Kern

Mr. William Sherman Kern was born January 19, 1918 to Frank A. Kern and Anna B. (Nelson) Kern in Posey County, Indiana. He passed away May 2, 2011 at Grace Nursing Home in Clarksville, Tennessee. He was 93 years of age. He is survived by: wife, Carolyn Kern; son David L. Kern (Ann); step-son Billy Ray French (Debra); daughter Linda Jane Adkins; step-daughters Tammy Nicks, Ruby Ann Curtis, Lisa Gail Curtis, Ester King (Jay), Lisa Beard (Jeff), Nancy Castenholz (Dale), and Linda Page (Paul); sister Mary Alice Don; grandchildren David Kern, Jr., Darren West, Kelly Bribiesca, Dr. Michael West, and Bryan West; great grandchildren Allie Bribiesca,Breanna West, Hollie West, Christopher Bribiesca, Andrew West, Gabriel West, J.P. Gleckler, and Morgan Gleckler; step-grandchildren Crystal Bates, Bobby Bates, Dwayne Bates, Cassie Bates, Christopher Castenholz, Todd Castenholz, Veronica Castenholz, Timmy King, Lloyd McGough, Ashley Soons, and Micaeal Lyon; four great grandchildren. Besides his parents, Mr. Kern is preceded in death by his brother Glenn Kern and sisters Margaret Morris, Della Fern East, Alma Rose Green, and Juanita Wiley. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 4th, from 2-8 pm and Thursday, May 5th, from 10 am until time of service at the Emmanuel Church of Christ Oneness Pentecostal Church on South Bear Creek Road. Funeral service will be Thursday, May 5th, at the Emmanuel Church of Christ Oneness Pentecostal Church beginning at 1 pm with Sister Shirley Goins and Bro. Ricky Reynolds officiating. Burial will follow in the Averitte Cemetery in Vanleer.
