William Horace Turbeville

May 10, 1918 — March 10, 2011

Mr. William Horace Turbeville was born May 10, 1918 to Emmett and Clara Turbeville in Humphreys County, Tennessee. He passed away March 10, 2011 at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville at the age of 92. Mr. Turbeville served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He served in England, France, Belgium, and Germany. He served many years as an elder of the White Bluff Church of Christ. He was retired after 32 years from the Nashville Gas Company. Survivors include: two sons, Wayne Turbebille and his wife Sherrie of Dickson and William Turbeville and his wife Chris of Nashville; daughter Brenda Dawson and her husband Billy of White Bluff; two sisters Mildred McNeil of Midwest City, Oklahoma and Hazel Gillum of Dickson; three grandchildren Justin Dawson, Katie Turbeville, and Caleb Turbeville (all of White Bluff); great grandchildren Wyatt and Maggie Dawson, very devoted friend Pauline Anderson; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Mr. Turbeville is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Maggie Pewitt Turbeville and his second wife Melissa Harrington Turbeville. Visitation will be Saturday, March 12th, from 2-9 pm and Sunday, March 13th, from 1 pm til time of service. Funeral will be Sunday, March 13th, from the Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home beginning at 2 pm with Bro. Steve Baggett and Bro. Doug Couch officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery.
