Mrs. Mildred Sylvis was born October 20, 1938 to Floyd and Irene Hampton in Dickson County, Tennessee. She passed away December 16, 2010 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. Survivors include: husband Bobby Sylvis; four sons, Butch Rediker (Juanita) of Dover, Tony Rediker (Shirley) of Joelton, Jimmy Rediker of Charlotte, Wendall Sylvis (Leslie) of Charlotte; two daughters, Melody Qualls (Terry) of Charlotte and Beverly Roland (Stacey) of Charlotte; eight brothers, Bill Hampton of Nashville, Jim Hampton (Carol) of Nashville, Robert Hampton (Debbie) of Nashville, Roy Hampton (Donna) of Nashville, Charlie Hampton (Pat) of Franklin, Lynn Hampton (Kim) of White House, Glenn Hampton, and William Hampton (Brenda) of Nashville; four sisters, Katherine Barbee of Charlotte, Linda Russell (Bobby) of Fairview, Jeanne Von Cannon (Tony) of Charlotte, Hester Baggett (Gary) of Cottontown; special grandson Nicholas Sylvis; eleven grandchildren, Andy, Tammy, Jody, Sherry, Cassie, Shannon, Jessie, Jessica, Cameron, Tyler, and Nicholas; and several great grandchildren. Besides her parents, Mrs. Sylvis is preceded in death by sisters Nell Hayes, Mary Griffin, Effie Mae Hampton, Martha Lorene Heald, and Dorothy Sylvis and brothers Edward Jackson, Frank and Ward Hampton, and grandsons Jimmy Lee Qualls and Jonathan Rediker. Visitation will be Sunday, December 19th, from 3-8 pm and Monday, December 20th, from 10 am until time of service. Funeral services will be Monday, December 20th, from the Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home beginning at 1 pm with Bro. Robert Cullom officiating. Burial will follow in Dickson County Memorial Gardens.
