Mr. Jimmy Lee Garton was born June 18, 1949 to Doyle and Grace (Hunter) Garton in Dickson County, Tennessee. He passed away October 20, 2010 at Horizon Medical Center in Dickson. Survivors include: step-mother Shirley Garton of Burns; Companion Sheila Cato of Vanleer; six daughters, Annette Curl (Richard) of Dickson, Heather Pearson of Dickson, Danielle Dotson (Scottie) of Dickson, Risa Sims (Wes) of Dickson, Jessica Garton of Dickson, Dee Anna Massie of Vanleer; step-daughter Angela Massie of Vanleer; step-son Lucas Cato of Cookeville. Jesse Curtis (who was like his son) of Cookeville; brothers Larry Garton (Patty) and Jack Garton (Terri) both of Dickson; sisters Sheila Traylor of Bon Aqua and Penny Powlas (Todd) of Burns; ten grandchildren. Besides his parents, Mr. Garton is preceded in death by his brother Michael Griffin. Visitation will be Friday, October 22nd, from 1-8 pm and Saturday, October 23rd, from 10 am until time of service. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 23rd from the Chapel of Dickson Funeral Home beginning at 1 pm with Bro. Jeff Lankford officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Cemetery of Dickson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
